Policies and Rules

  • This property does not permit pets anywhere in or on the premises at any time, including outdoor spaces.
  • Bona fide service animals with appropriate certification may be permitted; the presence of a certified service animal must be disclosed prior to check-in.
  • Misrepresenting a pet as a certified service animal is a crime under North Carolina law.
  • Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee to remove pet hair and dander and clean carpets and upholstery.
  • If any pets are discovered during your tenancy (including via security camera, observation by neighbors, or by BRMR staff), your credit card on file will be charged for the above-mentioned fee, and you will be evicted without refund of unused days.
  • No smoking allowed.
  • Minimum age: 25 years.
  • Children allowed.
  • No events allowed.
  • Please observe a quiet hour of 10PM as there are full-time residents nearby.

Fees and Payments

  • Firewood for the outdoor firepit may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
  • Guests returning to Treetop Retreat may receive a discount of 5% to the room rent, not to be combined with other discounts to the room rent.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee.

  • Free parking for up to 3 vehicles.

Utilities and Amenities Access

  • All BRMR homes offer well-stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals.
  • There is a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
  • Towels and bed linens will be provided.
  • High-speed internet is available.
  • Landline phone service is available.
  • Clothes washing machine and dryer are provided.
  • Dishwasher, toaster, stove, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator, and oven are provided.
